Testimonials:

  • Doctor who took great care of me

“I want to take a moment to express my appreciation to you and your staff for the wonderfully kind and professional treatment shown to me prior and during my cataract surgery last Saturday.  I generally prefer hand-written notes, but I am sure you can understand the challenges that might pose this week.

Dr. Wade, the kindness expressed through your “bedside manner” is inexplicable and most supportive.  Each of your staff members appears to be imbued with that “bedside manner” style , and I assume they learned from the master.  There are no words that can describe the sense of confidence and comfort I felt after meeting you and listening to your recommendations.  On Saturday morning, clearly the confidence you bestowed in me previously was reiterated during our visit prior to entering the surgical suite.  During the laser portion of the procedure your calm and confident voice served to further remove any anxiety that may have existed.

Thank you for caring for me.  I shall express my appreciation through referral to you in the future.  You are unique.  You are gifted.  You are knowledgeable.  You are kind”.

    James A. Baker, Ph.D.

  • A true miracle!

“For me, it was true a miracle.  Like everyone, I depend on my eyes for everything.  I enjoy hunting and playing golf.  In fact, I had to give up hunting and golfing over the years because I couldn’t see well enough. Now I’m looking forward to hunting and getting on the course again”.   Thanks Dr. Wade for this miracle!

  • Awesome procedure!

“My Lasik procedure experience was GREAT from start to finish. When I came to Dr. Wade and the Eye Center of Texas, my prescription was somewhere around 20/80…and now I have 20/25 vision.  Everything went perfectly; I am so pleased with my results.  I actually had Lasik surgery years ago but needed to have it done again.  Dr. Wade was able to do my surgery, fix what other doctors has missed and without any complications.
Dr. Wade and his staff were awesome!  They were friendly, informative, and thorough.  It makes it easy to speak highly of the expertise and quality of their work when I know first hand”

  • Happy LASIK husband and wife

“Dr. Wade did my lasik about 5 years ago. I liked it so much that I talked my husband into having it”

  • Because of Dr. Wade, I have my sight and my life.

If you are looking for an ophthalmologist, this may be your lucky day.  It sure was mine when I was referred to Dr.Ed Wade.  I had been seeing another ophthalmologist since May of 2009 for continued loss of sight.  This ophthalmologist performed Lasik surgery following my cataract surgery thinking that might help.  My vision loss continued, so he performed a procedure to correct a fluid build up behind my lenses.  After this procedure, my vision continued to worsen, and he referred me to a retina specialist.  The retina specialist determined that I had tears in my retina, and thus performed laser repair in both of my eyes.  After two treatments, I was told that my vision would not improve, but it should not get any worse.  I then went back to my original ophthalmologist who then told me there was no further correction that could be done and that glasses would not be helpful.
I have always been an active golfer, but I could no longer see where my ball was going. My son-in-law got tired of helping me look for my ball and recommended that I see another ophthalmologist, specifically Dr. Ed Wade.  After my first visit to Dr. Wade, he told me that he thought he could help me.  He recommended further testing, and from those test results, he determined that I had a tumor on my pituitary gland that was pressing on my optic nerve which was causing my loss of vision. He scheduled an MRI and immediately set an appointment for me to see Dr. David Baskin, program director of neurosurgery at Methodist Hospital.  Not only did Dr. Wade correctly diagnois that I had a pituitary tumor, he also sent me to this renown neurologist for tumor removal.  Prior to surgery, my sight was totally gone in my right eye, and vision loss was continuing in my left eye.  Following the removal of the macro adenoma tumor, my vision has been totally restored.
Because of Dr. Wade’s insightful diagnosis, I have my sight and my life.  He is my hero, and I sincerely thank him.  It is a blessing to have him for my ophthalmologist.
    Sincerely, Thomas Strohm
  • People like you make the world a better place.

Thank you for taking care of my brother, David.   He had a very positive LASIK experience.

Thank you also for all that you do for all of us ODs throughout the year!

With much appreciation, Linh Khong, O.D.

  • What a tremendous gift you are able to provide...

Just saying thanks seems so inadequate for how you have helped Chi. In spite of the minor afflictions she is now experiencing, she is certainly feeling extremely grateful to not be concerned about her failing site anymore.

What a tremendous gift you are able to provide to people, we are extremely grateful.

  • So Happy With My Vision!

    Dr. Wade,

I just wanted to thank you for performing my LASIK surgery on December 6, 2013. I have worn contacts and glasses for the last 18 years of my life. Over the years it became harder and harder for me to wear contacts. However, I continued to wear them for work. I am a dental hygienist and my eyes are crucial when practicing.

I am so very happy with my vision!! I went in for a check-up the day after my surgery, and the doctor first tested me for 20/20 vision and I passed, then he tested me for 20/15 vision and I was able to read that line as well! am thrilled! Everything is so clear; I consider my surgery a Christmas miracle.

I highly recommend you to my colleagues. Thank you for taking such good care of me, and for talking me through the surgery. Please thank Dr. Reichle for me too, he thoroughly explained the whole process to me beforehand, and gave me post-op instructions.

    Sincerely,
    Cristina Belen Brown, RDH, BSDH

  • It was truly amazing!

    Dr. Wade:

When I first woke up the day after my LASIK surgery I couldn’t believe my vision…I could see my alarm clock without glasses for the first time in my life. It was truly amazing!  Thank you, thank you.

  • I LOVE MY NEW VISION!

    Dr. Wade:

I LOVE MY NEW VISION! I’m 24, getting married next month, and I’m so excited about never having to depend on contacts or glasses again. I am now convinced more than ever that Eye Center of Texas is the only Houston LASIK center to trust one’s vision to. You guys are the best.

    Thanks,

  • Dr. Cristina De La Pena

    Dear Randy and Tad:

I would like to express my sincerest gratitude for taking such great care of Giovanni’s eyes during his PRK surgery. I recently examined him for this three week post-op exam, and his visual acuity was 20/15. He comments every day that his new vision is fantastic!

The professionalism of the doctors and staff impressed us and made us feel so comfortable throughout the entire process.  I am especially grateful for your generosity and sincere desire to always take the time to help in anyway even if it was just to answer a question.  I can now proudly say to my patients that I only trust Edward Wade, M.D., the Top Surgeon in the U.S.  to do refractive surgery on my own family.

    Sincerely,
    Dr. Cristina De La Pena

  • I’m better than 20/20

    Dr. Wade:

My sister had Lasik with you 2 years ago…and she kept telling me that I should have it too.  To tell you the truth I was scared and didn’t think I could do it.  Well, I finally did it and I can’t believe how good my vision is.

I’m better than 20/20 and wish I would have done it years ago.

Thanks Dr. Wade for my great new vision.

  • To say thanks for my vision is an understatement.

    Dr. Wade:

I was one of your many patients that you have put ReSTOR and ReZOOM lenses in their eyes.  To say thanks for the vision is an understatement.
You did my left eye in the Sugar Land HCA facility on May 7 and the right eye on the 21st.  As of the 29th, I have 20/20 for distance and better than that for reading.

Thank you so much for the great job, it exceeded my expectations.

    Sincerely,

  • Thank You!

    Dear Dr. Wade:

I’m a firefighter with the city of Houston Fire Department.  Choosing to have lasik was one of the best decisions I made for my job and my life. I can’t tell you how important it was for me to have lasik with a surgeon I could trust.
Thank you for taking such good care of my eyes.

    Sincerely,
    Steve Scott

  • I can see great

I had Lasik eye surgery 3 months ago…and love it! I hated glasses and couldn’t wear contacts. During workouts my glasses would fog up and slide down.  Lasik took care of that problem.  It has made a world of difference, I can see great.  Dr. Wade and his team are winners in my book!

  • If you’re thinking about LASIK surgery go to the Eye Center of Texas!!

I’ve been thinking about having Lasik for a long time, and when I finally decided to do it, I asked around and all my friends told me to call the Eye Center of Texas.  I was really nervous about having the surgery, but after I learned about Dr. Wade’s experience, I knew it was the right place to go, so if you’re thinking about Lasik surgery go to the Eye Center of Texas

  • It’s like I can see in high definition

Before I had laser eye surgery, I could not see the big E on the eye chart without my glasses. I would put my glasses on before getting out of bed in the morning. Now, I’m seeing 20/15.  Having lasik surgery was the best decision I have ever made…just so mad I waited so long to do it.  It is a modern-day miracle. Thank you!

  • LASIK is one of the best things I have ever done

    Dr. Wade:

I went from 20/800, which is legally blind, to 20/20 and I was at work the next day.  For years I thought about lasik, but was too chicken.  Guess what – there was no pain during surgery or after surgery.  After checking around and talking to friends, the best advice I got was to make sure I went to a highly skilled lasik surgeon and I was fortunate that one of the best surgeons in the country is right here in Houston.  That is why I selected Dr. Wade to do my lasik surgery.  Lasik is one of the best things I have ever done!
