Dr Mayo performed cataract surgery on both eyes during December. It was amazing the immediate improved difference. I’ve never put on my glasses again. Today I had the left one lasered to remove the film that can grow back on it. It took about 30 seconds to zap it. I already have the right one scheduled to do. Letter sent to the Better Business Bureau on February 4, 2023. This should explain why I refuse to pay another $400 for a eye lens replacement that the physician recommended and then it did not work. I continue to get an invoice for $400 as late as February 10, 2023. February 3, 2023 On September 12, 2022, I had a consultation with an eye specialist at the Center of Texas Eye Clinic on Bellaire (Dr. name unknow). She did an eye exam and recommended that I have bilateral cataract removed and then have lens replacements to OS. She recommended the upgraded lens (Vivity lens) and felt that that was a better choice to correct my vision. Once we agree on the treatment protocol, I was then escorted to a surgery scheduler desk to schedule my surgery. At that time, I was informed that the cost of each of the Vivity lens was not covered by my insurance so that cost would be out of pocket, and I would be charged the $1070.30 by the surgery center (MH Kirby Glen, Houston Texas) for each lens on the day of my surgery. I was also charged $5,800 00 for my part for the procedures that my insurance (Cigna) would not cover. This was paid by credit card at the schedulers desk. On September 21, 2022, I had my left eye cataract lens removed and a Vivity lens implanted by Dr. Wade. I had a follow up scheduled for 9/22/22 in the Katy Office. The vision seemed to improve but it was still waxy and unclear. I assumed that this was due to the recent surgery. I have a credit card statement showing that I was charged $1070.30 for the one lens. On September 30, 2022, during the follow up, I stated that my vision was not clean and remained waxy and blurred. I could not read road signs nor license plates on cars in front of me while sitting at a red light. I was referred to Dr. Wade and he schedule a replacement lens surgery. The doctor told me that I would get a refund of $1,070.30 since the lens did not improve my vision. On October 7, 2022, Dr. Wade did the replacement surgery to the left eye. That night I developed severe eye pain and nothing would relieve it. I already had a 24 hour follow up scheduled for the following day. On my follow up visit, I voiced severe pain to my left eye. Before going in for the 24-hour follow up, I called the emergency number listed on my paperwork and got a recording and when the I was able to contact someone the following day during business hours (not a person answering emergency calls), I was told that I could come in at 9 am which I already had a 10 am one day follow up scheduled. The ophthalmologist evaluating at 10:00 o’clock, determined the pain was caused by a corneal abrasion. A contact lens was put in my eye and antibiotics were prescribed for me. When I went to my one week follow up, my vision was no better. On September 21, 32022, I had a cataract removed from my right eye. I had the replacement lens performed at the MH Kirby Glen Surgical Center again. On that day, I spoke to the “Financial Manager” about my refund, and she stated that Dr. Wade had “not put it in his notes about a refund and he needed to put it in his notes before they could refund my money for the failed lens.” She gave me her “direct number and extension” which I found out later that you can only leave a voice mail to the general number and do not have the opportunity to enter an extension number after directing me to “directly call her”. She (“the office manager”) charged me $400 for what my insurance would not cover for the surgery. I paid the charge by credit card (can provide proof if necessary).. On November 2, 2022, I paid another $400 for the third surgery fee that was not paid by the insurance. Again, I have a credit card statement showing that my credit card was charged $400. On November 21, 2022, I was charged $400 for the first surgery that the Cigna did not pay. I paid it on the phone to a representative that I called after getting a bill. On December 8, 2022, I received a bill for $400. Then at a later date (?) I received a bill for $800 dollars. After calling and speaking to someone they said yes the $400 had not been posted and they would make a note. I have made numerous calls to the numbers that they gave me and you can only leave a message on a general voice mail. I must have called at least 20 times and no one will call me back to try to figure out the refund and invoices that I keep getting. I was told by Dr. Wade during replacement surgery of the original OS lens that they would remove the original lens and replace it with another lens (pd $1,000K for the vivity (?) lens) and that they would refund me the $1,000 that I had paid for the upgraded lens. When I asked about it (when I checked in for my replacement surgery) the female said that someone other than her would take care of it. When I finally did speak to someone after legal threat and BBB threats, she (?) called me back and said no notes were written by Dr Wade that I would get a refund. She stated that “Dr. Wade did not put in his note that I would get a refund b/c the lens did not work. “ As of 10/19/2022) the eye was still, hurting and erythematous. I still could not see clearly out of OS (blurry vision). November 2, 2022, I had my right eye cataract removal done. I had a follow up on November 4th and the 9th. Again I kept telling everyone that my vision was not good and I was afraid to drive at night because I could no see the roads and read street signs, etc. Additional tests were ordered for me. On that same day (11/2/2022) I paid another $400 via credit card for the services that would not be covered by my insurance. I then received a $400 invoice from the surgery clinic. I called 1-866-491-4366 and I explained that I was supposed to have a $1,000 credit, so I should not be getting a $400 invoice. The representative explained that billing and refunds are too different offices and that I need to call the local surgery clinic. Again, I called and left a message at MH Kirby Glen Surgery Center and received no return call. Finally, I received a phone call from a lady named Margarita from the number listed on the invoice. I explained it all to her and she said that she would contact the Kirby Glen Office and forward the message. She said she could see all the charges, but couldn’t really do anything, bc the surgical clinic is different from the billing and collections office. She said that if I did not hear anything back from the Kirby Glen Office in a couple of days to call her back. I waited a week and did not receive a return follow up call so I called Margarita back and left a voice message about all of this. A few days later, the same person that I spoke to on my surgery day and gave me “her extension” called me back. She informed me that she did not remember the incident and could I update her, therefore, I restated all the history. She said that Dr. Wade did not put in his clinical notes for a refund, therefore he would need to do that before a refund was issued. She and I had already had this conversation on the day of my third surgery and she said, Dr. Wade did not put it in his note that I was to get a refund. I told her that I would see him that day bc I was having surgery. During my surgery, I told him what she said, and he assured be that he was texting the front office to refund my money. On January 11, 2023, an invoice for $400 was sent to me for services at MH Kirby Glen Surgery Center. This is very frustrating, and I feel that I did not receive satisfactory results (corrected vision) from my surgery and now I am getting billed for services that are subpar. I also pulled my Cigna Insurance claims and I see that the surgery center billed Cigna for six (6) anesthesiologists for three surgeries. I do not really understand why two for each procedure in which I was awake and speaking to Dr. Wade during the procedure. Maybe one came and prepped me and then the other one came in and introduced himself and signed the chart, so two charges were submitted? Dr. Wade charged Cigna for three surgeries, which should have only been two bc we went off his colleague’s suggestion and they also billed me another $400 dollars for the replacement surgery. Again, this is so frustrating, and I cannot seem to get a or any response from the MH Kirby Glen Surgery Center and would never, never, never recommended to have any procedure done at this clinic. On that same day (11/2/2022) I paid another $400 via credit card for the services that would not be covered by my insurance. I then received a $400 invoice from the surgery clinic. I called 1-866-491-4366 and I explained that I was supposed to have a $1,000 credit, so I should not be getting a $400 invoice. The representative explained that billing and refunds are too different offices and that I need to call the local surgery clinic. Again, I called and left a message at MH Kirby Glen Surgery Center and received no return call. Finally, I received a phone call from a lady named Margarita from the number listed on the invoice. I explained it all to her and she said that she would contact the Kirby Glen Office and forward the message. She said she could see all the charges, but couldn’t really do anything, bc the surgical clinic is different from the billing and collections office. She said that if I did not hear anything back from the Kirby Glen Office in a couple of days to call her back. I waited a week and did not receive a return follow up call so I called Margarita back and left a voice message about all of this. A few days later, the same person that I spoke to on my surgery day and gave me “her extension” called me back. She informed me that she did not remember the incident and could I update her, therefore, I restated all the history. She said that Dr. Wade did not put in his clinical notes for a refund, therefore he would need to do that before a refund was issued. She and I had already had this conversation on the day of my third surgery and she said, Dr. Wade did not put it in his note that I was to get a refund. I told her that I would see him that day bc I was having surgery. During my surgery, I told him what she said, and he assured be that he was texting the front office to refund my money. On January 11, 2023, an invoice for $400 was sent to me for services at MH Kirby Glen Surgery Center. This is very frustrating, and I feel that I did not receive satisfactory results (corrected vision) from my surgery and now I am getting billed for services that are subpar. I also pulled my Cigna Insurance claims and I see that the surgery center billed Cigna for six (6) anesthesiologists for three surgeries. I do not really understand why two for each procedure in which I was awake and speaking to Dr. Wade during the procedure. Maybe one came and prepped me and then the other one came in and introduced himself and signed the chart, so two charges were submitted? Dr. Wade charged Cigna for three surgeries, which should have only been two bc we went off his colleague’s suggestion and they also billed me another $400 dollars for the replacement surgery. Again, this is so frustrating, and I cannot seem to get a or any response from the MH Kirby Glen Surgery Center and would never, never, never recommended to have any procedure done at this clinic. Letter sent to the Better Business Bureau on February 4, 2023. This should explain why I refuse to pay another $400 for a eye lens replacement that the physician recommended and then it did not work. I continue to get an invoice for $400 as late as February 10, 2023. February 3, 2023 On September 12, 2022, I had a consultation with an eye specialist at the Center of Texas Eye Clinic on Bellaire (Dr. name unknow). She did an eye exam and recommended that I have bilateral cataract removed and then have lens replacements to OS. She recommended the upgraded lens (Vivity lens) and felt that that was a better choice to correct my vision. Once we agree on the treatment protocol, I was then escorted to a surgery scheduler desk to schedule my surgery. At that time, I was informed that the cost of each of the Vivity lens was not covered by my insurance so that cost would be out of pocket, and I would be charged the $1070.30 by the surgery center (MH Kirby Glen, Houston Texas) for each lens on the day of my surgery. I was also charged $5,800 00 for my part for the procedures that my insurance (Cigna) would not cover. This was paid by credit card at the schedulers desk. On September 21, 2022, I had my left eye cataract lens removed and a Vivity lens implanted by Dr. Wade. I had a follow up scheduled for 9/22/22 in the Katy Office. The vision seemed to improve but it was still waxy and unclear. I assumed that this was due to the recent surgery. I have a credit card statement showing that I was charged $1070.30 for the one lens. On September 30, 2022, during the follow up, I stated that my vision was not clean and remained waxy and blurred. I could not read road signs nor license plates on cars in front of me while sitting at a red light. I was referred to Dr. Wade and he schedule a replacement lens surgery. The doctor told me that I would get a refund of $1,070.30 since the lens did not improve my vision. On October 7, 2022, Dr. Wade did the replacement surgery to the left eye. That night I developed severe eye pain and nothing would relieve it. I already had a 24 hour follow up scheduled for the following day. On my follow up visit, I voiced severe pain to my left eye. Before going in for the 24-hour follow up, I called the emergency number listed on my paperwork and got a recording and when the I was able to contact someone the following day during business hours (not a person answering emergency calls), I was told that I could come in at 9 am which I already had a 10 am one day follow up scheduled. The ophthalmologist evaluating at 10:00 o’clock, determined the pain was caused by a corneal abrasion. A contact lens was put in my eye and antibiotics were prescribed for me. When I went to my one week follow up, my vision was no better. On September 21, 32022, I had a cataract removed from my right eye. I had the replacement lens performed at the MH Kirby Glen Surgical Center again. On that day, I spoke to the “Financial Manager” about my refund, and she stated that Dr. Wade had “not put it in his notes about a refund and he needed to put it in his notes before they could refund my money for the failed lens.” She gave me her “direct number and extension” which I found out later that you can only leave a voice mail to the general number and do not have the opportunity to enter an extension number after directing me to “directly call her”. She (“the office manager”) charged me $400 for what my insurance would not cover for the surgery. I paid the charge by credit card (can provide proof if necessary).. On November 2, 2022, I paid another $400 for the third surgery fee that was not paid by the insurance. Again, I have a credit card statement showing that my credit card was charged $400. On November 21, 2022, I was charged $400 for the first surgery that the Cigna did not pay. I paid it on the phone to a representative that I called after getting a bill. On December 8, 2022, I received a bill for $400. Then at a later date (?) I received a bill for $800 dollars. After calling and speaking to someone they said yes the $400 had not been posted and they would make a note. I have made numerous calls to the numbers that they gave me and you can only leave a message on a general voice mail. I must have called at least 20 times and no one will call me back to try to figure out the refund and invoices that I keep getting. I was told by Dr. Wade during replacement surgery of the original OS lens that they would remove the original lens and replace it with another lens (pd $1,000K for the vivity (?) lens) and that they would refund me the $1,000 that I had paid for the upgraded lens. When I asked about it (when I checked in for my replacement surgery) the female said that someone other than her would take care of it. When I finally did speak to someone after legal threat and BBB threats, she (?) called me back and said no notes were written by Dr Wade that I would get a refund. She stated that “Dr. Wade did not put in his note that I would get a refund b/c the lens did not work. “ As of 10/19/2022) the eye was still, hurting and erythematous. I still could not see clearly out of OS (blurry vision). November 2, 2022, I had my right eye cataract removal done. I had a follow up on November 4th and the 9th. I have to say, this was one of the most chaotic doctor offices I have every been to. Reception area was loud. The technician that did my intake/assessment kept the door open and I it was just as chaotic outside that room. I also felt like a bouncing ball going from room to room for tests. I had a hemorrhage at my optic nerve and Dr. Autry was called by my optometrist on Friday which was the day after Thanksgiving. His office and the Eye Center of Texas office was closed but he was able to talk with Dr. Autry who instructed my eye doctor to order a series of bloodwork tests for me to get and arranged for me to come in Monday for an appointment. She had me take a series of tests and went over the results of the bloodwork reports. She was very kind, explained everything in easy to understand terms and set up additional appointments for a recheck on the hemorrhage. I have used Eye Center of Texas for the last 14 years to help with various eye issues and they are always there to take care of whatever issues come up with my eyes. They are prompt, attentive, caring, reassuring and give excellent care.

It also has information on what will be happening at your visit. Very informative for those that will take the time to read it. The visit itself went very smoothly, for the amount of people that had appointments. Sometimes there were short waits in between getting into rooms for different machines, but this is a Dr. Office. Expect some wait times, or wait for a day that you don't have anything else of importance on your schedule.

October 19, 2022 notes: $5,000 00 surgery for both eyes paid. On 24 hours and one week follow up, patient stated vision was not clean Referred to Dr. Wade and he schedule a replacement lens surgery. Did the replacement surgery which did not improve the vision. Had to go to the doctor for a 24-hour follow-up and voiced the severe pain. Before going in for the 24 hour follow up, patient called the emergency number and got a recording and when the patient was able to contact someone on the following day, the patient was told that he could come in at 9 am which the patient already had a 10 am one day follow up scheduled. The ophthalmologist evaluating g the patient at 10:00 o’clock, determined the pain was caused by a corneal abrasion. Contact lens was put in and antibiotics were prescribed for the patient. Today (10/19/2022) eye still swollen, hurts and erythematous. Still cannot see clearly out of OS (blurry vision). Told by Dr. Wade when he evaluated me a couple of follow-up visits that they would remove the original lens and replace it with another lens (pd $1000K for the vivity (?) lens) and that they would refund me the $1,000 that I had paid for the upgraded lens. When I asked about it ( when I checked in for mt replacement surgery) she said that someone other than her would take care of it. Received a $400 invoice from the surgery clinic. I called and explained that I was supposed to have a $1,000 credit, so I should not be getting a $400 invoice. The representative explained that billing and refunds are too different offices and that I need to call the local surgery clinic. This is very frustrating, and I feel that I did not receive a satisfactory results from my surgery and now I am getting billed for services that are subpar. Sorry that I feel this way but I was expected a different outcome. Thank you.

Wow what a great visit! The folks at the Eye Center of Texas exceeded all expectations. From start to finish it was a very comprehensive, professional and pleasant experience. Both Dr Mayo and Dr Schulle took all the time I needed to answer my many questions and to put me at ease about my lens selection options and the cataract surgery itself. Before going to the Eye Center of Texas I had been to two other eye surgeons from recognized Houston practices that left me with more fear and uncertainty about having a successful outcome. But that was not the case with Dr Mayo and Dr Schulle. They took the time to do an extensive examination and to truly understand my lifestyle and what I was hoping to achieve through cataract surgery. Dr Mayo, the surgeon, and Dr Schulle the OD, shared many of their patient experiences and went into great detail about the pros and cons of the available lens that they offer, and that they don't offer. It felt more like a chat than a doctor's visit. They make a great team. Cataract surgery is a very big deal. My advice is take the time to do some research, understand what it is you are expecting then save yourself a bunch of time and frustration by going directly to See Dr Mayo and Dr Schulle at the Texas Eye Center!!! After care appointment scheduling has been difficult. The front desk line is not easy to reach, on hold for long periods of time and the phone drops calls. My paperwork says I can do all my follow up appointments with my eye doctor, yet I was forced to make my 3-5 day post-op follow up appointment at the Eye Center of Texas (which is a far drive for me), when my paperwork says I can do it with my local eye doctor. Overall confused and I don't want my lifetime guarantee questioned because I didn't do my follow up's where I'm supposed to. I think I had an appointment today (9/21/22) but I did not receive a phone call or email confirming the 3-5 post-op appointment, so I think I've missed it. I tried calling three times with hang-ups each time. Finally got ahold of someone at 10AM, and they were unenthusiastic and cold; they said they forwarded my inquiry to a counselor and they will reach out to me regarding if I had my 3-5 post-op follow up appointment today (which if I did, I missed it). Not pleased. Can't wait to go back to my local eye doctor, where I have my 3-5 post-op appointment scheduled for this coming Friday....

While I appreciate the care given for a retinal tear, the fact that I have to pay over $100 for an office visit simply because your staff is going to dilate my eye for a simple follow up care visit...that is going to take more time waiting in the waiting room than looking at my eye is wrong. I've had lasik and cataract surgery (at another provider) and never had to pay for a simple follow up visit (it was included as part of the overall cost). Not only will I not be returning, PLEASE fix your non-stop talking voice recording that you use while people are on hold...it has major static & is painful to listen to...and has been that way for months. I am unable to choose "other" as a category. I would have preferred to send a simple email (as I solely want to get my frustration off my chest) but you don't have one. Spoke with the supervisor with good hair, Micheal, and he took care of me instantly. He treated me like he’s known me before and turned a bad experience amazing. He is sincere and was raised right! Dr. Rosner did my initial consult and was very thorough. A good wait time for Dr. Wade after but he is an amazing doctor and has the experience.

The only thing I would change regards the first person I saw; she was speaking fast, almost quoting a script, then $190 was briefly mentioned as she continued speaking. I now plan to just get the insurance paid lens after speaking to the doctor's, and getting a better understanding, so I think the information/test was only needed if I wanted to get other types of lens that are paid out of pocket. I may not have needed the test, but I am not sure of the benefit to the Doctor when developing the lens.

The doctor's I saw were very professional, only positive things to report. The only thing I would change regards the first person I saw; she was speaking fast, almost quoting a script, then $190 was briefly mentioned as she continued speaking. I recently had cataract surgery on both eyes without sedation. The procedure was 100% successful and no pain. The entire staff and nurses were absolutely knowledgeable and answered all of my questions. Dr. Mark Mayo preformed the surgeries and done in less than ten minutes each time. I came to Eye Center of Texas because I want lasik surgery. I got the evaluation which was great having learned so much about eyes. I met with Dr. Wade who gave me options, talked to me and made me feel comfortable about the surgery. There was another doctor, during the evaluation, who told me that I had retina stretching and Dr. Wade and her both agreed that they had to be lasered before lasik, and it could be covered under insurance. Ok, I thought let's get it scheduled. I showed up on the day of lasering my retina and I got tested, this time, I wore warm clothes and I met the doctor who showed me on the image of my retina that he would fill in the cavities with scar tissue. All seemed reasonable. Then I was dilated so my vision was blurry, but I was asked to pay for a procedure that I understood, but cost almost $200 more than I was initially billed for. Meanwhile, I can't see well enough to read anything so I just signed that and my consent for surgery. Later, I was upset that I had signed, paid more money and did not understand the charges. Then it was time to get lasered. I'm in a dark room, there are machines all over and I told the doctor, I'm nervous, I told the others that I was nervous. I asked the doctor if this is painful, he said everyone has a different pain threshold. I asked how long it would take and he said 10-15 minutes. Then he tried to put this thing in my eye without warning or explaining what was happening so I asked. At this point I lost it. I was full on tearing up and crying. I couldn't breathe well because I had a mask on and it's getting all wet from tears. I keep talking to the doctor and asking him more questions, I asked for a timeline, I asked for breaks and he was not explaining anything. I was finally head in the machine and I flinched when he started because I DID NOT KNOW WHAT WAS HAPPENING. NO ONE EXPLAINED ANYTHING! Then he pushed my head in the machine and told me not to move. That was the first time he asked me to do anything. I was put into a worse state, but at least I was finally getting some direction. I kept talking and he said when I moved my mouth I was moving too much. There's a green laser shooting my eye which DID hurt and now I'm deep into this awful situation and the doctor says that he doesn't like to see patients so distressed and we can put me under anesthesia to do both eyes. I said oh no, we've come this far, finish it. I was not going to go through this again! I tried to breathe, and I did my best to ask for what I needed, but it was hard and I felt like my requests were not heard. I scheduled the other doctor for the other eye. All I wanted was a little compassion for what I was going through. No, overall it's not that painful, but I did not know what was going to happen. In conclusion, I feel all of this could have been avoided if: 1. I had gotten an itemized bill so I would know what I would be paying for when my eyes were NOT dilated. I was also unclear that each eye would cost that much, I thought the total for both eyes would be a certain amount. A clear explanation would have been helpful. 2. I had gotten play by play instructions about what was expected from me as a patient either written ahead of time or if one of the assistants had explained to me what was going to happen during the procedure. 3. If you go to this office be sure to ask for all the things I didn't and then your experience will be much better!

I have been on Glaucoma watch for a while. My initial sets of visits with the eye center of Texas ended 2011 when I was declared Glaucoma free. Thereafter when I was referred to an ophthalmologist again this year, I would only see them. What I appreciate the most is the fact that the doctors and interns are very diligent. They looked closely, they checked and rechecked and I am extremely happy with the outcome. I don't have Glaucoma, just very chronic dry eyes. They have been very consistent with me. I am very comfortable with their recommendations. This year, eye center of Texas is not in the network of my insurance, I had to pay out of pocket to see them just because I could not trust any other place. I called, got an appointment within 2 days , The icing on the cake is how they were able to help get my prescription covered and delivered to me within 2 working day. Great interpersonal skills, great professionalism, easy parking, nice comfortable environment. The tests took a LONG time, but it was well worth it :) . I would recommend them any time.

When I went to one room for an eye exam there was so much make-up on the plastic forehead rest, the nurse -tech had a very difficult time trying to wipe it off. She used several cleaning cloths "trying" to get it cleaned. I had an 8:30 am appointment, I am pretty sure I was the first patient of the day. That make-up had to had been there from the night before, it was gross, even more so with all the covid stuff.

I left the Eye Center with my 85 year old father in Pasadena feeling like I had made the best decision of my life. Everything went beautifully! The surgery went well and we were back for our post surgery visit. When we arrived I was excited with my father to have a good report. We entered knowing that we would have our temperatures taken and given the warnings about Covid-19. I was told I could not stay with my father and I explained that because of his age and neuropathy I was given permission to stay with him last time to be responsible for him falling. I was told again that I would not be able to stay (the decision of the door attendee). I again explained that I need to stay so the clinic would not be responsible for him falling and she accused me of threatening her and the clinic. She stated in front of the entire lobby that she would not nor the clinic be responsible for him falling. I was and am shocked! Again, let me say I was allowed in for the same reason on our first visit. The attendee was testy and rude. She brought over a wheel chair and insisted I leave and would be summoned in the car. I guess she took responsibility. She also embarrassed me in front of the employees at the desk. I am not an aggressive person, just a RESPONSIBLE party for my father! I think Dr. Wade did an excellent job on my first cataract surgery. I was able to see clearly almost immediately. After the second cataract surgery, I have had problems, mainly headaches. I don't have all of the records before me but I am not satisfied with the fact that every single time I went in, I saw a different doctor, even thought I did request an appointment with Dr. Wade. It seems like I was given a different reason for my headaches and problems with my vision each time I went in. At one point, I specifically requested an appointment with Dr. Wade and when I got to your office, I was told he was on Spring Break. I told them I wanted to reschedule with Dr. Wade and then CV happened. I had an appointment to see Dr. Mayo, which was suggested by one of the doctors I saw at the beginning because it was indicated I had droopy eyelids. I'm not a good patient - Analgesics and anesthesia doesn't work well on me (redhead) and my pain tolerance is very low. But everyone was sympathetic and caring (Kimberly, Anna, Robin, Dr. Mayo, Dr. Nguyen, Dr. Burasco (?spelling) to name just some). I caused some problems at some stages of the process but they were patient and got me thru both eyes! I must also thank Dr. Autrey for her skill & professionalism in sorting out precisely what I needed in each eye and for taking time to explain things to me. But a special extra thank you to Kimberly for calmly explaining to me what had happened and for calming me down when it was needed! Astigmatism has gone, long sight seems perfect and the colors are spectacular. Like I got two new eyes - so precious at my age

Really, really nice doctors. My mom is a diabetic and is losing her vision. The doctors are doing everything possible to help her from completely losing her vision. Very helpful, compassionate, but at the same time don't sugar coat it, which we appreciate. When we were referred to them I was told to plan on several hours, which is what happened but when you see all the tests they had to do, then talk to the doctor you understand why it takes so long.

Really, really nice doctors. My mom is a diabetic and is losing her vision. The doctors are doing everything possible to help her from completely losing her vision. Very helpful, compassionate, but at the same time don't sugar coat it, which we appreciate. When we were referred to them I was told to plan on several hours, which is what happened but when you see all the tests they had to do, then talk to the doctor you understand why it takes so long.

spoke with Mrs. Davis in billing office about them incorrectly charging me additional copay of $40.00. She was rude to me and acted in a unprofessional way during the entire conversation. She was unable to answer my question on the bill in reference, spoke with a attitude, put me on hold with out informing me, and at the end of our phone call she hung up on me. I wonted to be able to say good by or " have a blessed day". Her supervisor did settle the money issue by saying there was a error in billing and I owed nothing. I reported my concerns with Mrs Davis but was not offered any condolences. I hope Mr. Wade will address this issue after I just spent $10,000.00 with him. Most recent visit was to do YAG because vision deteriorated over 3 yr period. This visit was streamlined, Bellaire office got me in within days of calling, no wait times from check in to procedure. Only two issues prevented a rating a 10. First, the place was too cold in the two waiting rooms and 6 exam rooms I was moved to during my 4.5 hours (2:30pm to 7:00pm) there. They should advise people to wear a light jacket or sweater if they are not going to adjust their thermostats. Upon checking out the check-out lady at the front desk said she has heard the person who calls patients sometimes mention bringing warm clothing, but I received no such warning. I did OK, but my wife would have frozen. Second, there was too much time spent waiting for each next step in my very thorough exam. Some test seemed to duplicate what my regular doctor's office had performed, so I don't know why that info wasn't passed along to the Eye Center to reduce time and costs. I know they have to wait a while for eye drops to dilate or numb the eyes, but not nearly this much time. At least I had a book with me and had time to read many pages. I would have gone crazy or walked out if not for my book. I didn't see magazines in the exam rooms, but I didn't look for them either since I had my book. Other than these cold and time issues, all the many staff who did various tests and moved me to the next exam room and the two doctors who saw me were very nice, professional, and competent. The primary doctor who saw me after all the others confirmed what my regular eye doctor found that led to this referral. I expected to have to come back for a second visit to have the needed procedure performed, but the doctor performed it around 6:30pm so I would not have to return other than for a follow-up in two weeks. the procedure only took perhaps 5 minutes. I greatly appreciated the doctor working late to complete my work in a single visit. I think they had one more patient behind me. So, I would recommend Eye Center Of Texas and Dr. Paul Stewart for any advance procedures your normal eye doctor cannot perform. I'm having no problem with my procedure, but the doctor and the check-out staff were very careful to advise me of potential problems and to request I let them know asap of any problems so they could have me come back in. So, just wear a jacket and take a book or something else to occupy your time, and you will be in good hands at Eye Center Of Texas. Free parking, too.
