Krystal L. Schulle, O.D., F.A.A.O.

Krystal Schulle graduated Valedictorian of Lockhart High School, and then moved to Houston where she graduated Summa Cum Laude from the University of Houston with membership in the Honors College in 2009 with a degree in biology and a minor in chemistry. She then completed her Doctor of Optometry degree, also graduating Summa Cum Laude, in 2013 at the University of Houston College of Optometry. In 2014, she completed a residency in Ocular Disease and Refractive and Ocular Surgery at Eye Center of Texas before joining the University of Houston College of Optometry (UHCO) clinical faculty. After five years at UHCO, she returned to Eye Center of Texas as an associate optometrist.

Dr. Schulle is a member of the American Optometric Association and Texas Optometric Association. She is a Fellow in the American Academy of Optometry and a board member for the Harris County Optometric Society. She also has received numerous awards and scholarships, most notably, the Terry Foundation Scholarship (2005), Beta Sigma Kappa International Optometric Honor Society (2010), Gold Key International Optometric Honor Society (2012), Julius F. Neumueller Award in Optics (2013), and the National Institute of Health Loan Repayment Program Award (2016-2018).

Dr. Schulle has published many clinical research manuscripts and abstracts, primarily related to myopia progression, contact lenses, and retinal disease. In her spare time, she enjoys traveling, going on mission trips to Haiti, being involved in her church, playing volleyball, and supporting Houston sport’s teams.
