Anushka Lewkebandara, O.D.

Dr. Anushka Lewkebandara is a therapeutic optometrist at the Eye Center of Texas, specializing in ocular disease including glaucoma, retinal and vitreous conditions, anterior segment care and refractive surgical procedures. He has clinical experience in primary vision care, specialty contact lenses, dry eye management, and advanced training in procedures such as YAG capsulotomy and selective laser trabeculoplasty. Prior to joining the team full-time, Dr. Lewkebandara completed his ocular disease residency with Eye Center of Texas.

Dr. Lewkebandara graduated with honors from the University of Houston with a B.S. in biology and double minors in mathematics and psychology. He went on to earn his Doctor of Optometry from the University of Houston College of Optometry (UHCO). While at UHCO, he served as class representative and was inducted into the Beta Sigma Kappa Honor Society and Gold Key International Optometric Honor Society. He completed a clinical rotation at the Northeastern State University College of Optometry, serving the Native American population in primary vision care while co-managing and performing advanced laser procedures.

He is an active member of the Harris County Optometric Society and a Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry.

Outside of practice, Dr. Lewkebandara is a classically trained musician and has performed in several ensembles across Houston. He enjoys riding on his motorcycle and experimenting with new food recipes.
