COST OF LASIK SURGERY

One of the first questions in many people’s minds when considering a Lasik procedure is of course the cost of Lasik surgery.  Here at the Eye Center of Texas, we recognize that cost is a primary concern for many patients, often second only to the quality of care and the results that you see from your procedure.  Let’s look at three main points around the cost of Lasik Surgery.

  • Quantity = Efficiency = Lower Cost of Lasik Surgery
  • Lower Cost of Lasik Surgery Doesn’t Mean Lower Quality
  • Financing for Lasik Surgery is Available

Quantity = Efficiency = Lower Cost of Lasik Surgery

At the Eye Center of Texas, we have performed tens of thousands of these Laser vision correction procedures.  We have developed safe, effective, and highly efficient procedures that help keep our costs down.  That enables us to pass those savings on to you, making the cost of Lasik surgery more affordable.

Lower Cost of Lasik Surgery Doesn’t Mean Lower Quality

At the same time, our first priority is always your sight.  We keep the cost of Lasik surgery affordable without sacrificing individual time and attention with each of our patients.  You are important to us!  You will be supported by a team of highly trained eye care professionals and support staff throughout the entire procedure.  Though the procedure itself may only take a few moments, many people are surprised by the amount of time we spend with you before and after your surgery.  The cost of Lasik surgery includes these pre-op evaluations and post-op follow-up.

We also do not sacrifice technology for the sake of keeping the cost of Lasik surgery low.  We use the latest, state-of-the art equipment and technology.  This actually helps us be more efficient as well as helping us to achieve a success rate three times better than the national average.  Another important factor in our success rate, of course, is our surgeons.  They are ranked among the best in the country.  To learn more about the technology we use, click Lasik Eye Surgery.  To learn more about our surgeons, click Lasik Surgeon.

Financing for Lasik Surgery is Available!

We at the Eye Center are sensitive to the fact that most insurance plans do not cover the cost of Lasik surgery, so the money is right out of your pocket.  It is our goal to have this life-altering procedure within the reach of everyone, so we have made arrangements with a Finance company to provide low-interest, low-hassle affordable payment plans.  The entire cost of Lasik surgery may be under $100 a month!  That is a small price to pay for your vision (less than a cup of Starbucks coffee per day!).

Some places may offer “discount” Lasik surgery just to get clients in the door.  Here at the Eye Center, we understand that, though the procedure is becoming more and more common, it is far from routine.  It is still eye surgery.  By charging an affordable but fair price, we are working to keep the procedure safe and effective yet bring the cost of Lasik surgery within the financial reach of most people.

Remember…
If you are comparing several providers, the cost of Lasik surgery is only one aspect to consider.  Be sure to ask questions like:

    • How many procedures does your practice do in the course of a year?
    • Is your eye surgeon certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology?
    • To whom do other eye doctors in the  area refer their patients and family?
    • How long have you been in business?
    • What percentage of people that come to you are considered candidates for Lasik?
    • How long is your pre-op evaluation?
    • What are your success rates vs. your rates for enhancements (follow up corrective surgery)?
    • What kind of equipment do you use and do you move it around? (Sometimes the mobile Lasik equipment is less reliable than the larger, stationary equipment)
    • What all is included in the cost of Lasik surgery at your practice?

    iLASIK - Safe and Affordable!

What kind of results should I expect from my iLASIK procedure?
Patients come to the Eye Center of Texas with very similar questions about their LASIK eye surgery. Fear and cost are always concerns and by offering zero percent financing with Care Credit, the cost of Lasik surgery is made easier.

Dr. Edward Wade will approach the fear factor by doing the very best and safest LASIK vision correction on each patient. Dr. Wade has been recognized as one of the “Top Doctors in the U.S" by VISX and is board certified. He only offers iLASIK (all bladeless custom LASIK with iris registration). With this state of the art LASIK vision correction, a thin flap is made in the superficial layers of the cornea using a blade free laser called Intralase that is the safest and most precise way to make a flap. Dr. Wade then does the Visx Customvue custom laser vision correction using Wavescan Wavemapping Waveprint technology.

The laser acquires a custom fingerprint of each patient’s vision and this ablation is automatically centered and tracked through the LASIK vision correction. We also use iris registration in each case so that the laser is exactly lined up to the particular pinpoint areas of each person’s iris. This technology is the best LASIK procedure available in the world. For those patients that are not able to have LASIK, we can sometimes still offer, PRK - custom advanced surface ablation with iris registration. All of these LASIK vision correction procedures are completely custom. Dr. Wade and the Eye Center of Texas have a huge commitment to the best technology and the best results possible.

    Cataract Surgery...Amazing Results!

Cataract surgery at the Eye Center of Texas by our board certified surgeons, Dr. Edward Wade and Dr. Mark Mayo is a painless and pleasant experience. When a cataract becomes dense enough so that it interferes with your daily living, we discuss the option of cataract surgery. Cataract surgery takes about 10 minutes and patients return to the comfort of their home the very same day. There is little to no pain and Dr. Wade and Dr. Mayo do not use painful injections, stitches or even an eye patch after surgery. Patients stay in their own clothes for comfort and receive IV sedation so that they are comfortable during the procedure.

Patients have a choice in intraocular lens implants lenses or IOLs that are used to restore their vision. The standard lens we use is the monofocal which corrects distance vision. With this lens, patients still need glasses for reading. If patients have a desire to see without glasses, we offer the ReSTOR 3.0 or 4.0 multifocal implants. These premium or upgraded implants allow patients to see near, far and everything in between without glasses or with a limited use of glasses. You do not have to choose one of these implants, but if you desire less dependence on glasses, they are a wonderful way to achieve it.

These premium or upgraded intraocular lens implants do require an extra charge, but this cost can be financed with zero percent financing through Care Credit. Our patients love the ability to spread the cost over years without incurring expensive financing charges.
