The iLASIK Procedure
The first step of iLASIK is the mapping of the eye using WaveScan technology. The data from the WaveScan map is then used to calibrate the excimer laser, which reshapes the corneal tissue during surgery.
Once the data is obtained, a laser is used to create the corneal flap. The use of a computer-guided laser to create the flap makes the procedure safe and precise.
The next step of iLASIK uses unique data taken from WaveScan, to correct even the smallest corneal flaws. The flap is then gently returned to its original position to act as a natural bandage for the eye.
