Diverse experiences and academic excellence mark Dr. Ahmed’s career success in ophthalmology. After graduating with honors in physiology and neurobiology from the University of Maryland in 2008, he continued his education at Brown University Alpert Medical School, obtaining his medical degree in 2012. Dr. Ahmed’s medical training included prestigious institutions such as Harvard’s Mount Auburn Hospital, Penn State, Wills Eye Hospital, and Thomas Jefferson University, where he completed a cornea and external disease fellowship in 2016.

Before joining Eye Center of Texas, Dr. Ahmed played a pivotal role in the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton area, establishing the cornea surgical specialty in a high-volume surgical practice. His leadership and expertise set him apart in the field. With over 25 publications and presentations covering everything from cataract surgery to virtual surgery simulators, Dr. Ahmed actively contributes to ophthalmological knowledge. His memberships in esteemed organizations like the American Academy of Ophthalmology reflect his commitment to professional excellence.
